J.T. Pells

My name is J.T. Pells and I currently play baseball for Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Cornell is a NCAA Division III baseball program. I've played for 3 years, and this year will be my fourth in the Cornell College program. I will be a senior this season and I am currently interested in continuing my baseball career after graduation. I believe that I have the ability to play baseball professionally in the Dutch Major League.

To be able to play professionally has been a goal of mine since I was 5 years old. I have a passion for the game and am willing to do anything to be successful. My personal motto is to the first one in the door, last one out. In the winter, we lift 3 times per week as a team, but I try to at least work out one additional day a week on speed and agility. I feel that is the weakest part of my game, but like any other dedicated ballplayer, I try to attack my weaknesses to improve all parts of my game.

I'm an outfielder/1B at school here, bat left throw right, 5'10, 185 lbs. My 60 time is 7.5. The last time I was clocked, I threw 85 from the outfield and 80 from the infield. Last year I hit 320 in my junior season at Cornell. My bat is the strongest part of my game and I believe that I have the ability to hit for a higher average this season and also hit for more power than in the past.
I have played in two elite summer college leagues during my career. In 2008, I played in the Boise Summer Collegiate League and in 2009, I played in the New York Collegiate League for the Niagara Power. I have played against elite competition in college and I feel that the success I've had at the collegiate level (both in school and summer ball) has prepared me for a possible professional career in Europe.
