James (J.D.) Scholten
I am interested in playing baseball in the Netherlands. I have played the best college baseball in the U.S. (University of Nebraska), 3.5 years of professional baseball in the U.S./Canada and I have played in Belgium twice. In 2005, I was the best pitcher in Belgium and won the Best Pitcher Award at the Apeldoorn International tournament. This past summer, I was asked to play for Ghent during the playoffs.
Professionally and at Nebraska, I only pitched. At my first college and the last couple years (including Belgium) I have pitched and hit/played a position. I usually hit 3, 4, or 5 and I can play all 9 positions. As a pitcher, I am a tall (1.98 meters) righthander that throws upper 80s + with a slider and change-up.
As you could guess by my last name, I have Dutch heritage. I would love an opportunity to play where my Great-Grandfather came from.
