I am a converted catcher and that has been my primary position for the last two years but in my college career I have played at every infield position. I played two years at a junior college in twin falls Idaho for the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) and then finished playing my last two years at Northwest Nazarene University. (NNU).
While in junior college I was an undersized infielder starting most of my games at third base and starting a few at second base. While I still posted a .300 average both years at CSI I didn’t hit for much power, but was one of the team leaders in stolen bases.
At NNU I was brought over to play infield and then converted to catcher and in 100 games I caught in 94. Both years I was the number three hitter in our line-up and posted much better power numbers along with average. Some of my stats included hitting .344 average with a .570 slugging percentage, which included hitting 13 doubles, 7 homeruns, and 36 RBI’s as a junior. As a senior I improved even greater; posting a .387 average with a .742 slugging percentage which included hitting 17 doubles, 2 triples, 16 homeruns, 54 RBI’s. In my two years at NNU I also set several school batting records for most homeruns in a season (16), Career slugging percentage (.667), single season RBI’s (54).
