Brian Verne
My name is Brian Verne. I am a Senior at Oberlin College. I play baseball here at Oberlin. We are a member of the NCAA Division III. I am a team-captain and four-year starter in the outfield. I grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio and played very competitive baseball in HighSchool against many Division I players and guys who are now playing pro-ball.
I have received instruction from former pro players and coaches (i.e Joe Charboneau formerly of the Cleveland Indians, Eric Cormell formerly in the Expos organization and Dick Schoonover, a world class pitching instructor).
As I enter my last season, and near graduation, I am not yet ready to give up baseball. I thought it would be quite interesting to get involved with baseball overseas where it is not quite as developed. While I am still young, I thought it would be appropriate to see the world. I can't imagine a more perfect scenario than seeing other parts of the world and remaining involved in baseball.
